Selfie(2014)
I am a sufferer of the image virus.
Selfie is an experimental essay-film that explores the selfie phenomenon from the inside out. Director Agustina Muñoz spent most of 2014 documenting herself on video daily, turning the camera inward to interrogate what the act of self-portraiture means in the digital age. Rather than analyzing the trend from a distance, the film becomes a living archive of intimate moments—a visual diary that questions identity, narcissism, and the compulsion to record and share our lives. By embracing the selfie as both subject and method, Selfie captures the paradox of modern self-representation: the desire to be seen, remembered, and validated through the lens we control. The result is a meditative, personal investigation into how technology reshapes our relationship with ourselves and others.
