The Red Squirrel is a Spanish drama about a man whose suicide attempt is interrupted when he rescues a motorcyclist who crashes off a bridge. Grateful for his intervention, he becomes obsessed with her recovery, inventing an elaborate false history of their shared past—a web of fabricated love and memories designed to bind her to him. As she slowly awakens with no recollection of her true identity, Jota's deception deepens, blurring the line between salvation and manipulation. The film explores how desperation and loneliness can warp human connection, trapping both characters in a fragile reality built on lies.
