Penelope's Journey(2010)

Penelope's Journey is a film that reimagines Homer's Odyssey from Penelope's perspective. While Ulysses is lured away by mysterious siren songs, Penelope and their son Telemachus remain steadfastly at home, enduring the weight of his absence. Desperate suitors circle Penelope, each vying for her hand and their family's fortune. She devises a clever strategy to hold them at bay: by day she weaves intricate poems into tapestries, and by night she carefully unravels them, buying time and maintaining her dignity. The film explores themes of patience, cunning, and devotion as Penelope transforms from a passive figure in legend into an active architect of her own fate, refusing to surrender to the pressures around her while awaiting her husband's uncertain return.
