Stubborn Boy(2015)

Stubborn Boy is a German drama set in a remote Black Forest village where Hanna, a 21-year-old farm worker, arrives to help Uwe Kiefer, a defiant 39-year-old farmer waging a milk strike against the dairy industry. Rather than sell his product, Uwe deliberately pours it down the drain, alienating his community and destroying his marriage and finances. As Hanna grows closer to Uwe's desperate situation, she becomes entangled in his quiet rebellion—yet she harbors her own secret. She's been spying on a neighboring family in town, a deception that unravels when Uwe discovers the truth. The film explores themes of rural resistance, economic hardship, and the complicated bonds that form between two outsiders in a tight-knit Alemannic-speaking community.
