Me(2016)

Me is an Iranian drama written and directed by Soheil Beiraghi. Leila Hatami plays Azar, a woman navigating a dangerous double life as a middleman in the underground trade of illicit goods. Beiraghi crafted the character as a deliberate departure from convention—a rebellious figure who defies both law and social expectation. The film explores the moral complexity of survival in constrained circumstances, presenting a woman caught between two worlds. Me was selected for the Certain Regard section at the 34th Fajr International Film Festival, marking its official recognition within Iran's prestigious cinema circuit.
