Sowol Road follows Jumsoon, a 52-year-old woman working two jobs to support her recently discharged son. By day she works at a restaurant; by night she sells sex on Sowol Road, a notorious red-light district. When Jumsoon intervenes to save another sex worker from assault, she discovers the woman is transgender and desperate to afford gender reassignment surgery. What begins as a chance encounter becomes an unlikely bond as Jumsoon grapples with her own struggles while helping someone pursuing a fundamental transformation. The film explores survival, dignity, and connection among Seoul's most marginalized residents with unflinching compassion.
