A Friend of the Family is a psychological thriller following artist Alison Shaw, who relocates to rural Ontario with her husband Darrin after a traumatic assault in Toronto. When charming local David Snow befriends the couple and partners with Darrin in an antiques business, Alison becomes convinced he's a serial killer targeting women who resemble her. Plagued by suspicion, she finds herself isolated—no one believes her accusations against the well-respected Snow. Her obsession deepens even after the couple moves to Vancouver, straining her marriage as Darrin grows weary of her fixation.
