Kilimandscharo – Reise ins Leben is a German drama following Simon, an experienced mountain guide, as he leads five strangers up Africa's highest peak. The group is fractured from the start: Anna is a self-absorbed doctor, Tom a paraplegic former athlete, Joschka an unprepared teacher, and Paula his twenty-five-year-old daughter. Each climber carries personal stakes that drive them toward the summit, but their individual ambitions threaten to derail the expedition. As Kilimanjaro's harsh conditions intensify, the climbers face a hard truth—they cannot reach the snow-capped peak alone. The film explores how shared struggle forges unexpected bonds and teaches these solitary figures that survival depends on unity, not willpower.
