Afternoon is a German drama following a family reunion at a lakeside mansion near Berlin. When Irene arrives with her new lover to visit her brother Alex and her writer son Konstantin, the gathering becomes a study in emotional distance. Konstantin's girlfriend joins the group, and what begins as a summer escape gradually unravels into isolation. Over three days, the characters drift apart, their connections fraying beneath the surface of domestic politeness. The film captures the quiet tensions and unspoken resentments that simmer within families, exploring how proximity can paradoxically deepen loneliness.
