Strange Gardens(2003)

Strange Gardens is a French drama about a teenage boy struggling to understand his father's eccentric passion for clowning. Fourteen-year-old Lucien is embarrassed by his serious, respected teacher father's decision to perform in costume, unable to reconcile the man's respectable public image with his secret life as an entertainer. When André, his father's closest friend, notices Lucien's confusion and shame, he decides to share a pivotal moment from their shared past—one that reveals the deeper meaning behind his father's unconventional choices. The film explores themes of acceptance, hidden depths, and the gap between who we appear to be and who we truly are, ultimately asking whether we ever really know the people closest to us.
