August is a Finnish coming-of-age film about a high school graduate confronting unexpected change. When Aku's girlfriend, parents and friends abandon the city for summer, he braces for months of monotony. His plans shatter at Midsummer when he meets Juli, a captivating and unpredictable girl who persuades him to drive her across Finland to the eastern border.
