Maria, Mirabella is a children's fantasy film following two young girls who venture into the woods and meet a cast of troubled magical creatures. A frog trapped in ice, a fireworm whose burning shoes won't stop igniting, and a butterfly paralyzed by fear of flight all need help. The girls embark on a journey through the forest to reach a distant sorceress, the only one who can break the curses afflicting their new friends. Along the way, Maria and Mirabella discover that compassion and courage matter more than size or strength.
