Ulbolsyn(2020)

Ulbolsyn is a film set in Karatas Village, where tradition and patriarchy have long gone unchallenged—until a fierce woman arrives to upend everything. Ulbolsyn herself is a force of nature: cold-blooded, quick-tempered, and willing to burn down the old order to build something new. As she clashes with the village's rigid customs, the community fractures under the weight of her defiance. The film explores what happens when an unstoppable individual confronts an immovable way of life, asking whether change can coexist with tradition or whether one must inevitably destroy the other. Ulbolsyn's arrival becomes a catalyst for transformation that no one—least of all the village itself—is prepared to handle.
