Papa's Pet(1968)

Papa's Pet is a Malaysian comedy about Che Aaron, a rubber plantation manager and his father's favored son, whose lavish spending habits have left him drowning in debt to loan sharks. Desperate to cover his losses, Che Aaron deceives his father, Dato Mahfiz, claiming he needs money for an impending marriage. The plan backfires when his father, eager to see his son settled, immediately sends RM5,000 and begins pressuring him to follow through. Caught between his mounting debts and his father's expectations, Che Aaron must navigate an increasingly complicated web of lies while juggling his romantic entanglements, including a nightclub singer named Che Normah. The film explores themes of family obligation, deception, and the consequences of living beyond one's means.
