CodeSwitching is a documentary that follows three generations of African American students through a landmark voluntary desegregation program. Bused from inner-city Boston to predominantly white suburban schools, these students navigate the psychological toll of code-switching—adapting their speech, behavior, and cultural identity to survive in unfamiliar environments. The film weaves together personal testimonies that reveal how this constant shifting between worlds shapes their sense of self, belonging, and educational opportunity.
