Rain(2016)

Rain is a 23-minute independent short film that reimagines Marvel's Storm as a punk-inspired antihero. Directed by Zane Rutledge and Jeff Stolhand, the film draws from the X-Men franchise's darker narratives and the acclaimed graphic novel LifeDeath by Chris Claremont and Barry Windsor-Smith. Rain follows a broken mutant hero struggling through despair and fragmented memories. To survive, she must forge a new identity and reclaim the powers she's lost. The film blends dystopian storytelling with intimate character study, exploring themes of trauma, resilience, and self-discovery. Created as a fan film by an independent team, Rain offers a grittier take on the superhero origin story.
