Workers is a Mexican drama about two aging service workers pushed to the edge. Lidia, a devoted maid to a wealthy Tijuana widow, inherits nothing when her employer dies—the entire estate goes to the woman's dog. Rafael, a janitor retiring after three decades at a corporate facility, watches his modest plans collapse. Desperate and overlooked by a system that has exploited them, both turn to crime as their only path forward. The film explores how years of dignity and hard work can lead to desperation, following these two characters as they risk everything in a final act of defiance against the inequality that has defined their lives.
