Unterleuten: The Torn Village is a German drama series set in a small Brandenburg village of 250 people, thirty years after the Berlin Wall's fall. On the surface, the community appears peaceful and unified, but beneath the rural calm lies a web of old grudges, hidden conflicts, and simmering resentments between locals and newcomers. When the mayor proposes a lucrative wind farm project to secure the village's future, the fragile peace shatters. The land needed for the turbines is split among three owners, triggering a bitter fight for profit and control. Alliances crumble, friendships fracture, and neighbors turn against one another. The arrival of an aggressive investor from southern Germany intensifies the chaos, exposing the fault lines that divide the community and forcing residents to choose between greed and solidarity.
