Bomb(2020)

Bomb is a Russian historical drama following brilliant physicist Mikhail Rubin, imprisoned in a Soviet labor camp after clashing with People's Commissar Beria. When his former colleague Kirill Muromtsev nominates him for a classified atomic weapons program, Rubin is released to join the top-secret project under academician Kurchatov's direction. Returning to Moscow, Mikhail discovers that his fiancée Anna has married Kirill during his imprisonment. The three must navigate their fractured relationships while racing to develop the Soviet Union's first atomic bomb, balancing personal heartbreak against the demands of state science during the Cold War era.
