To the Sea is a Russian drama series following two families who reunite each summer in the Black Sea resort town of Gelendzhik. For eleven years, the Belyaevs from the north have vacationed with their longtime friends, the southern family. This summer, Sasha plans to propose to Lyusya, but tensions simmer beneath the surface. Sasha's parents teeter on the edge of divorce—his mother Larisa has grown weary of her immature husband Seva, especially after learning he quit his job without warning. Meanwhile, Lyusya's father has secretly begun a new relationship with a woman named Madina. As the families gather for what should be a romantic holiday, personal crises threaten to unravel both households and derail the young couple's future together.
