Give Us a Clue(1979)

Give Us a Clue is a British game show that brought charades to television, running on ITV from 1979 to 1992. Michael Aspel hosted the first four years before Michael Parkinson took over, presiding over two teams captained by Lionel Blair and Una Stubbs, with Liza Goddard later joining as women's team captain. The format proved durable enough to warrant a BBC revival in late 1997, hosted by Tim Clark and featuring Christopher Blake and Julie Peasgood as captains, which attempted to blend charades with lateral thinking puzzles. The show made a comeback for a Comic Relief special in 2011, reuniting original cast members Blair and Stubbs alongside Sara Cox, Christopher Biggins, Holly Walsh, Jenni Falconer and David Walliams. Give Us a Clue remains a fondly remembered fixture of British light entertainment.
