Santa Evita(2022)

Santa Evita is a limited series that follows the extraordinary afterlife of Eva Perón's body. After the Argentine icon's death in 1952, her corpse becomes a political weapon. The military junta that seized power in 1955 fears her remains will galvanize the nation against them, so they hide the body and attempt to erase her from public memory. What unfolds is a darkly compelling saga of obsession, power, and the strange ways a symbol can haunt a nation. The series traces how Perón's physical absence paradoxically amplifies her cultural presence, transforming her into a more potent force in death than she ever was in life. Drawing on historical events and personal testimonies, Santa Evita explores the collision between myth and reality in twentieth-century Argentina.
