Good News Week(1996)

Good News Week is an Australian satirical panel game show hosted by Paul McDermott that aired in two runs: 1996–2000 on ABC and Network Ten, then 2008–2012 on Network Ten. The show mined comedy from recent news, political figures, and media organisations, opening each episode with McDermott's monologue on current headlines. Two teams of three panellists then competed in recurring segments for points, with the show itself often becoming the target of its own satire. Good News Week was revived in 2008 when the Writers Guild of America strike disrupted Network Ten's supply of imported US programmes. The series spawned three spin-offs: Good News Weekend, GNW Night Lite, and the sketch-based Good News World.
