Hip Hop Honors(2004)

Hip Hop Honors is an annual VH1 television special celebrating the pioneers and architects of old school and golden age hip hop. Each ceremony honors influential rappers and contributors with live performances from the honorees alongside contemporary artists shaped by their legacy. Taped at Manhattan's Hammerstein Ballroom, the show launched in October 2004 with hosts Vivica A. Fox and MC Lyte. Subsequent ceremonies have been hosted by Russell Simmons, Rev. Run, Ice-T, Tracy Morgan, and Craig Robinson, drawing major figures from across hip hop's landscape. The seventh edition, which aired in June 2010, spotlighted artists from the Dirty South. Hip Hop Honors remains a definitive tribute to the genre's foundational voices and their enduring influence on modern music.
