Neger, Neger, Schornsteinfeger!(2006)

Neger, Neger, Schornsteinfeger! is a drama drawn from the childhood memories of Hans Jürgen Massaquoi, one of the few black native Germans living under Nazi rule. Set in 1935 Hamburg, the nine-year-old boy lives with his German mother in a working-class flat while his father and grandfather have fled the country. Though not directly persecuted by the regime and eager to join the Hitler Youth, Massaquoi faces relentless racist abuse because of his skin color. The film explores his struggle to belong in a society that views him as an outsider, capturing the complex reality of a child caught between aspiration and the brutal prejudices of his time.
