NBC Sunday Showcase(1959)

NBC Sunday Showcase was an anthology series of hour-long specials that aired in color on NBC during the 1959–60 season. Each week brought a different genre—comedies, science fiction, musicals, and historical dramas—keeping viewers uncertain what to expect. The show took advantage of newly available videotape technology to rebroadcast select episodes, including two dramas that returned in 1960. Richard Adler, fresh from Broadway successes with The Pajama Game and Damn Yankees, composed the series' opening theme, "Sunday Drive." The flexible format allowed NBC to experiment across entertainment styles during television's early color era.
