Masters of the Sea(1994)

Masters of the Sea is a 1994 English-language drama series from Singapore's Television Corporation, marking the nation's first full-length English drama production. The show follows maritime adventures and features Wong Li-Lin, Ng Chin Han, and Aziz Mustajab in lead roles. Despite ambitious storytelling, the series struggled with critical reception and cultural accuracy—notably in its portrayal of Peranakan traditions and customs. Masters of the Sea ran for two seasons, with the second retitled Masters of the Sea: In Troubled Waters, before concluding. The show found a second life through syndication to Indonesian television, where it was adapted and localized for regional audiences.
