Open Up, Police!(2023)

Open Up, Police! is a Russian comedy series that follows Masha Roshchina, a young doctor caught between two worlds. Her father is a police lieutenant colonel; her fiancé, cosmonaut Andrei Izotov, despises law enforcement. When their wedding is disrupted by Masha's parents, she issues an ultimatum: Andrei and her father must learn to work together. To win her over, Andrei takes a job as a police intern and joins her father in pursuing the criminal Taktarov, who has kidnapped an American diplomat. As the fugitive flees St. Petersburg heading south, the case spirals into an international manhunt. What unfolds is a high-stakes chase filled with misadventures, culture clashes, and unexpected bonding between the reluctant partners. The series blends crime-thriller elements with romantic comedy as Andrei discovers that law enforcement—and family—might not be so bad after all.
