Provoke is a Chinese historical drama set in early twentieth-century Tang City. Jiang Ying, a celebrated singer at the New Fairyland, orchestrates an elaborate scheme to marry wealthy businessman Du Jingchuang as part of her revenge plot. His son, Du Xunyu, grows suspicious of her true intentions—but Jiang Ying nearly exposes his own dangerous secret: that he's not Du Jingchuang's biological heir. Trapped under the same roof, the two antagonists clash constantly, yet gradually discover they share a forgotten past as old friends. What begins as mutual suspicion transforms into unexpected alliance as both seek protection from their common enemy. All the while, Du Jingchuang watches from the shadows, unaware of the bond forming between them.
