Celebrity Deathmatch is a claymation series that pits celebrities against each other in brutal wrestling matches, almost always ending in the loser's grotesque death. Created by Eric Fogel, the show premiered on MTV with pilots in January 1998, followed by its main run from May 1998 to October 2002 across 75 episodes. Known for its graphic violence, excessive blood, and exaggerated injuries, the series became a cult favorite for its darkly comedic take on celebrity culture. Professional wrestler Stone Cold Steve Austin voiced his animated counterpart as guest commentator. Though a film adaptation was announced in 2003, it never materialized. MTV2 revived the show in 2006 as part of their "Sic'emation" block, with the fifth season premiere drawing over 2.5 million viewers—MTV2's highest-rated season premiere at the time.
