Thundercloud(1979)

Thundercloud is a 1979 British comedy series created by Ian Mackintosh for Yorkshire Television. Set during World War II, the show follows Lieutenant Commander 'Monty' Morgan and his crew at HMS Thundercloud, a secret Royal Navy shore station hidden on the Yorkshire coast. Morgan, obsessed with naval protocol, runs the base with rigid formality—while the Admiralty remains hilariously convinced the station is actually a destroyer patrolling the North Sea. The premise allows for absurdist humor as the isolated crew operates with remarkable autonomy, far from headquarters scrutiny.
