Cicada Cycle(2024)

Cicada Cycle follows Tomato, a teenager forced into a new Hong Kong school after her parents' divorce in 2003. There she befriends Siu-ching, and together they join the school's theater group with dreams of staging their own play. The SARS outbreak derails their plans, leaving their production unfinished. Seventeen years later, Tomato returns to Hong Kong when her father falls ill. She reunites with Siu-ching, and the two discover an unexpected opportunity to finally mount the play they abandoned as teenagers. The series explores how life's interruptions reshape our ambitions, and whether old dreams can be reclaimed after decades have passed. It's a poignant look at friendship, timing, and the roads not taken.
