Hook Bait is a Chinese drama about Cheng Yu, a woman trapped in a controlling relationship with Zhou Jin who treats her as a possession. When a staged cheating scandal brings her face-to-face with Pei Zheng, a detached male model, she begins testing him with opportunities to play her rescuer. What starts as mutual manipulation—she seeks escape, he seeks distraction—gradually transforms into authentic connection.
