Smokescreen(1994)

Smokescreen is a British period drama set in the summer of 1907, when cinema was just beginning. In a gritty northern industrial town, two rival movie moguls clash for control of the local audience. Frank Sheringham, an ambitious filmmaker, wages war against the unscrupulous Albert Gold, who runs the town's decrepit flea-pit cinema. Their bitter feud engulfs the entire community, with three local children caught at the centre of the chaos.
