Any Dream Will Do(2007)

Any Dream Will Do is a 2007 British talent competition that searched for an unknown performer to lead a West End revival of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Hosted by Graham Norton, the series followed aspiring singers competing for the coveted role, with Lee Mead crowned winner by public vote on 9 June 2007. The show became the second in a BBC and Lloyd Webber partnership, following How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria?, and spawned further musical casting competitions including I'd Do Anything and Over the Rainbow. The format proved successful internationally, with a Dutch adaptation, Op zoek naar Joseph, launching in 2008 and crowning winner Freek Bartels for performances the following year. Any Dream Will Do demonstrated the appeal of combining talent competition with theatrical casting, blending reality television with musical theatre.
