Heartbeat is a German soap opera that premiered on Sat.1 in October 2010, following the lives of students and staff at a fictional high school in Cologne. The series weaves together romance, family conflict, and mystery alongside music and dance sequences that set it apart from traditional soaps. Characters navigate young love, marriage crises, disappearances, competition, coming-of-age moments, and moral dilemmas including drug abuse and forbidden attraction. Though initially cancelled after nine months, the show found a new home on sixx, which aired the remaining episodes and a final one-hour conclusion in September 2011.
