Daddy's Girls(1994)

Daddy's Girls is an American sitcom that premiered on CBS in fall 1994. The series centers on Dudley Walker, a New York fashion house owner left to raise his three daughters after his wife and business partner abandon him for each other. Harvey Fierstein plays Dennis Sinclair, a high-strung designer at Walker's firm, in a landmark role as the first openly gay principal character played by an openly gay actor on television. Despite Fierstein's acclaimed performance, critics savaged the show. New York magazine called it "despised, reviled," while Entertainment Weekly found the lead "wan and confused." The series aired only three episodes before being pulled from the schedule. It marked the penultimate on-screen role for its star and his last regular television series.
