La Bola de Cristal(1984)
La Bola de Cristal is a Spanish television series that aired on TVE from 1984 to 1988, created by writer Dolores Rico Oliver and hosted by pop singer Alaska. Aimed at young viewers, the show captured the energy of Spain's post-Franco transition and the countercultural movement known as la movida. Unlike earlier children's programming, it featured sophisticated wordplay and electronics-themed humor throughout. Regular characters included the Electroduendes puppets—Maese Cámara, Hada Vídeo, and Bruja Avería—each a clever play on video and technology terminology. The series blended music, comedy, and cultural commentary, reflecting the creative ferment of 1980s Spain while maintaining an irreverent tone that appealed to both children and adults.
