The Search for the Funniest Mom in America is a reality competition series that pits ten female comedians against each other for a $50,000 prize and the chance to develop their own show on Nick at Nite. The first season aired in spring 2005 with Sandra Bernhard hosting, and crowned stand-up comic Darlene Westgor as the winner. Katey Sagal took over as host for season two in 2006, which saw Muslim mother Rubi Nicholas win the title. A third season launched in April 2007 with Roseanne Barr as host, though the prize structure changed—winners no longer received a television development deal. Despite the initial promise of on-air opportunities, no series starring any of the competition winners has been produced.
