The Soul Man(2012)
The Soul Man follows Reverend Boyce "The Voice" Ballentine, an R&B superstar who abandons his glittering Las Vegas career after receiving a spiritual calling to become a minister. He relocates to St. Louis with his wife Lolli and daughter Lyric to take over his father's church, trading chart-topping success for pastoral duties. The transition proves turbulent: his family resists leaving behind the glamour and wealth of their former life for the modest existence of a clergy household. Boyce must navigate the clash between his past as a soul singer and his new identity as a soul saver, while convincing his reluctant loved ones that this unexpected path is worth the sacrifice.
