Buzzer Beater(2005)

Buzzer Beater is an anime series set in a near-future New York where aliens have dominated professional basketball. Hideyoshi, a homeless boy who survives by hustling other kids in street games, gets drafted to an unlikely team: Earth's first all-human roster competing in the Space League. With physically superior alien players ruling the sport, Hideyoshi and his teammates face impossible odds to reclaim the championship for humanity. The series blends sports drama with sci-fi worldbuilding, following an underdog squad determined to prove that heart and strategy can overcome raw athletic dominance. As Hideyoshi transitions from street player to professional athlete, he discovers what it means to fight for something larger than survival.
