America's Toughest Jobs(2008)

America's Toughest Jobs is a reality competition series that aired on NBC for one season. Contestants competed in a series of physically demanding and dangerous occupations, with the grand prize equaling the combined first-year salaries of all featured jobs. Created by Thom Beers, the architect behind Deadliest Catch and Monster Garage, the show featured real workers and employers supervising contestants as they tackled authentic tasks. Hosted by Josh Temple, each episode followed contestants through a different profession. After completing job-specific challenges, supervisors identified top and bottom performers. The lowest-ranked contestants faced elimination rounds—additional head-to-head challenges directly tied to that episode's job. As the competition narrowed to four finalists, timed challenges determined who would advance, with the slowest contestant in each round eliminated. The series concluded with a final winner crowned. Between episodes, title cards revealed what eliminated contestants pursued after leaving the show.
