Sunburn(1999)

Sunburn is a British comedy series that follows a group of holiday reps working abroad during the late 1990s. The show ran for two seasons on BBC One from 1999 to 2000, with the first series set in Cyprus and the second in the Algarve. Michelle Collins, Rebecca Callard, Sharon Small, George Layton, and Sean Maguire lead the ensemble cast, joined later by Paul Nicholas. Creator Mike Bullen drew inspiration from the docusoap Holiday Reps, crafting a behind-the-scenes look at the chaotic lives of tour operators juggling demanding guests, workplace romance, and personal drama. While Bullen penned most of the first series, writers Lizzie Mickery and Sally Wainwright took the helm for the second, bringing fresh energy to the show's blend of comedy and character-driven storytelling.
