Ardéchois, cœur fidèle is a period drama set in 1822 France. After Napoleon's defeat at Waterloo, former army captain Toussaint Rouveyre returns to his Ardèche village from America, hoping to claim his inheritance and reunite with family. His plans unravel when he learns his younger brother Antoine, a carpenter and member of the Compagnons du Devoir, has been murdered by a rival craftsman named Tourangeau Sans-Quartier from the competing Compagnons du Devoir de Liberté. Consumed by the need for vengeance, Toussaint infiltrates the rival association in disguise to track down his brother's killer. The series explores themes of loyalty, brotherhood, and the hidden codes governing France's secretive trade guilds during the Restoration era.
