Ugryum-River(1969)

Ugryum-River is a Russian drama series set in the remote forests along the moody Ugrum River. Prohor Gromov, the son of a corrupt trader, seeks to forge his own path by delivering his father's furs to a buyer in the nearest town. Taking a shortcut through the wilderness, Prohor becomes hopelessly lost. As hunger and desperation mount, his father's servant Abdulla—sent along as a guard—nearly kills him in a moment of savage need. But Abdulla's humanity prevails, and he chooses survival over violence, pushing both men forward into the unforgiving landscape. The series explores themes of ambition, loyalty, and the raw struggle for independence against the brutal backdrop of untamed Russia.
