Boża podszewka is a Polish historical drama series spanning 1900 to 1945 through the eyes of Marianna Jurewiczówna, born prematurely to the Jurewicz family in Vilnius. Nicknamed "niedonosek" by her own family, Marianna grows up feeling rejected and misunderstood, an outsider even among the manor's cast of servants, farmhands, and misfits. As she navigates a household filled with complex characters—from strict overseers to lazy hangers-on to the village's forgotten souls—Marianna's story becomes a window into the turbulent transformation of the Vilnius region across four decades of upheaval.
