Jhooti(2020)

Jhooti is a Pakistani drama that follows Nirma, a headstrong teenage girl from a middle-class family determined to study and build her own career. Her family, however, pressures her toward marriage instead. Enter Nasir, a seemingly successful superstore owner from a similar background who becomes dangerously obsessed with Nirma. His fixation crosses ethical lines—he stalks her and enlists a friend to photograph her without consent. As Nirma navigates her ambitions against family expectations, she must confront the predatory attention of a man whose charm masks troubling behavior. The series explores themes of female autonomy, consent, and the clash between traditional values and modern aspirations in contemporary Pakistani society.
