Camera Motor(2024)

Camera Motor is a Soviet comedy series following Nikolai Videnin, a washed-up film director reduced to working at a video rental shop in Leningrad. When he accidentally screens an adult film to a group of schoolchildren, Nikolai faces court proceedings and lands in a penal colony settlement. Stripped of his former ambitions, he's given the nickname Vidik and forced into grueling forestry labor instead of pursuing cinema. The series captures the absurdist humor of Soviet life, tracing Nikolai's fall from artistic pretensions to manual work in the Siberian wilderness.
