Chances(1991)

Chances is an Australian evening soap opera that aired from 1991 to 1992. The series follows the Taylor family, a middle-class household whose fortunes shift dramatically after winning $3 million in the lottery. Broadcast by the Nine Network as two one-hour episodes weekly, the show starred John Sheerin and Brenda Addie as parents Dan and Barbara, alongside Jeremy Sims as their mischievous son Alex. The supporting cast included Deborah Kennedy, Tim Robertson, Anne Grigg, and Michael Caton. Creator Lynn Bayonas originally envisioned Chances as a family-oriented drama, but Channel Nine pushed for edgier content, including nude scenes and risqué storylines to boost ratings. The show became known primarily for its adult elements rather than its domestic comedy premise.
