Hell on Wheels is an epic Western series set in post-Civil War America, following Cullen Bohannon, a Confederate soldier driven by vengeance. After Union soldiers kill his wife, Bohannon heads west to Hell on Wheels, a lawless, transient town that moves alongside the construction of the first transcontinental railroad. The settlement is a dangerous melting pot of fortune seekers, laborers, and outcasts who service the railroad's unprecedented engineering feat. As Bohannon navigates this brutal frontier world while pursuing his revenge, he becomes entangled in the larger forces reshaping America—ambition, greed, and the collision of cultures. The series explores themes of redemption and survival against the backdrop of one of history's most transformative projects.
